About the B.S. in Business Administration — Marketing

ACU’s Marketing concentration is designed for students who want to understand how organizations identify, reach, and serve their customers. Built on the same comprehensive 39-credit business core that all business students share, this concentration adds 18 credits of focused marketing coursework covering consumer behavior, advertising, social media, sales management, marketing management, and marketing research.

This isn’t a surface-level introduction to marketing—it’s a deep, six-course immersion. You’ll study why consumers make the decisions they do, how to craft advertising and promotional campaigns, how to leverage social media as a strategic tool, how to manage sales teams and client relationships, and how to conduct and apply marketing research to real business problems.

Every marketing course requires Principles of Marketing as a prerequisite, which means you’ll build progressively from foundational concepts to advanced applications. Combined with the business core’s coverage of accounting, finance, management, economics, law, and ethics, you’ll graduate as a well-rounded business professional with deep marketing expertise.

What You'll Learn

03

Social Media Marketing

Develop strategic skills for using social media platforms as marketing tools. You'll study content strategy, community management, analytics, and the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

04

Sales Management

Understand the sales process from prospecting through closing and relationship management. You'll learn to build and manage sales teams, set targets, and develop client relationships.

05

Marketing Research & Strategy

Master the tools and methods of marketing research—surveys, data analysis, and market segmentation—and learn to translate research findings into actionable marketing strategy.

See Marketing Through a Biblical Lens

Marketing has the power to inform, persuade, and shape culture. At ACU, you'll develop a Biblical framework for thinking about the ethical responsibilities that come with that power. This isn't about avoiding certain tactics—it's about understanding your role as a communicator and steward in the marketplace.

Truth in Advertising

Examine the ethics of persuasion, claims, and representation in advertising through a Biblical commitment to truth-telling. You'll learn to craft compelling messages that are both effective and honest.

Marketers known for integrity build brands that earn long-term consumer trust.

Human Dignity in Marketing

Explore how a Biblical view of human dignity shapes how you think about target audiences, data collection, and consumer manipulation. You'll develop an ethic of respect for the people you're trying to reach.

Professionals who see customers as people—not just data points—create marketing that resonates and lasts.

Stewardship of Influence

Consider the cultural influence of marketing and your responsibility as a steward of that influence. You'll examine how marketing shapes values, desires, and social norms.

Marketers who think critically about their cultural impact bring a distinctive perspective to any organization.

Serving Through Business

Explore how marketing can serve genuine human needs rather than merely create artificial demand. You'll develop a framework for marketing that contributes to human flourishing.

Professionals who connect marketing to real value creation build careers with lasting impact.

Learn From Experts Who Care

Marketing is everywhere, and most people don’t realize how much skill, strategy, and ethical judgment it requires. Our Marketing concentration doesn’t just teach you tactics. It teaches you to think strategically about how organizations connect with people, and to do it with integrity.

You’ll take six dedicated marketing courses that cover the full spectrum: consumer behavior, advertising and promotion, social media strategy, sales management, marketing management, and marketing research. All of that is built on top of the same comprehensive business core every ACU student completes—accounting, finance, management, economics, law, and ethics.

The result is a marketing professional who understands the full business picture, not just the marketing silo. That kind of versatility sets our graduates apart.
