Why the Marketing Concentration

Marketing is how organizations connect what they offer with the people who need it — and in a digital, social, data-driven world, good marketers are in constant demand. The Marketing concentration gives you a complete grounding in the field, from selling and advertising to social media, consumer behavior, and research.

On top of the full business core, you’ll add eighteen credits across the whole marketing function: Selling and Sales Management, Advertising and Promotion, Social Media Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Management, and Marketing Research. You’ll learn both the creative and the analytical sides of the work — and, framed by a Biblical Worldview, how to market with honesty and respect for the people on the other end of the message.

What You'll Learn

01

Sell and Manage Sales

Learn the principles of selling and how to lead a sales effort.

02

Build Advertising and Promotion

Plan advertising and promotional campaigns that reach the right audience.

03

Market on Social Media

Develop strategy and content for the social platforms where attention lives today.

04

Understand the Consumer

Study consumer behavior to grasp why people buy what they buy.

05

Manage the Marketing Function

Lead and coordinate marketing strategy across an organization.

06

Do Marketing Research

Gather and analyze the data that drives smart marketing decisions.

Marketing and a Biblical Worldview

Marketing shapes what people want and how they decide — which makes honesty and respect more than nice-to-haves. A Biblical Worldview gives the field a clear ethic.

Truth in Persuasion

Marketing can inform or it can manipulate. A commitment to truth-telling draws the line — persuading honestly, representing products fairly, and refusing to exploit fear or insecurity.

Forms a marketer people can trust, building brands that last.

Respect for the Audience

Consumers are image-bearers, not targets to be exploited. Seeing them that way reshapes how you study behavior and craft messages — serving real needs rather than manufacturing false ones.

Grounds your marketing in genuine service to the customer.

Stewarding Influence

Marketing wields real cultural influence. Using that influence responsibly — for products and causes worth promoting — treats the work as a trust, not just a tool.

Anchors your career in promoting what's genuinely good.
