A first-semester discipleship course — the gospel, spiritual disciplines, and evangelism in practice.
BIB 131 is the first course in ACU's two-semester first-year discipleship sequence. The class teaches students how to make disciples — beginning with the gospel itself, then practicing spiritual disciplines and learning basic evangelism techniques.
The course is built around the conviction that discipleship is taught and caught: in-class instruction gives the framework, while out-of-class activities put it to work in actual relationships and rhythms. BIB 131 sets the foundation that BIB 132 Discipleship II builds on the following semester.

For a Christian worldview, discipleship isn't an optional add-on to faith — it's the shape Christian life takes. BIB 131 treats it that way, starting students with the gospel itself and giving them the practices and skills the rest of their education builds on.
