Course Description

BIB 304 introduces students to the practice of Christian theology — what it is, how it's done, and why it matters. The course focuses on the doctrines that sit closest to the center: the doctrine of Scripture, the doctrine of God, the person and work of Jesus Christ, and salvation.

From there it offers a working introduction to the doctrines of the Holy Spirit, the church, and the last things. Students learn to discover theology within the biblical text — not to import it from somewhere else — and to apply the doctrines they study to everyday life and church practice.

Biblical Worldview Connection

Theology done well is the natural outgrowth of taking Scripture seriously. A Biblical Worldview treats doctrine not as abstract speculation but as faithful reflection on what God has actually said — which makes theology a tool for living, not just a subject to know. BIB 304 keeps that orientation throughout.
