BIO 385: Creation Apologetics
A one-semester survey of origins — examining the presuppositions behind both biblical creationism and evolutionary frameworks.
Course Description
BIO 385 is a one-semester survey of origins, taught from a worldview that begins with Scripture as the basis for interpreting the science. The course works through the presuppositions used by both biblical creationists and evolutionists, with the conviction that both frameworks are faith-based systems of belief — and worth engaging at that level rather than as neutral readings of the same data.
The course is distinctive in ACU's biology curriculum. It treats origins as a serious subject deserving its own course rather than a footnote in introductory biology, and it equips students to engage origins debates with both scientific literacy and worldview clarity.

Biblical Worldview Connection
A Biblical Worldview takes Scripture seriously as the basis for understanding what reality actually is — including the question of origins. BIO 385 treats that as a position worth defending with rigor rather than assuming or dismissing it. The course doesn't pretend neutrality on the question; it makes its starting point explicit and then engages the science from there.
