Mathematics Content for Teachers

This course is designed for students majoring in elementary education, or secondary education with a concentration in mathematics. It satisfies a course requirement for graduation. It is intended to provide a deeper understanding of the mathematical content that teachers are expected to teach. Topics covered include problem solving, logic and sets, numeration systems, number theory, integers, rational numbers, decimals and percents, algebra, probability, data analysis, geometry, congruence and similarity, area and volume, and transformations. This course uses manipulatives for in-depth study and understanding of the topics.
