A this discipline course at Arizona Christian University.
The Chamber Singers is an elite, competitive, and creative vocal ensemble consisting of 6-12 singers selected by audition that sings everything from Palestrina to Pentatonix! Emphasis is placed on the development of proper vocal and musicianship skills applicable to classical, vocal jazz, and other contemporary styles. The repertoire is mainly a cappella, ranging from standard to contemporary jazz styles, gospel, pop and contemporary. Performances are required and include performances at churches, schools, retirement centers, and special university and community events. Students are required to register for both semesters each academic year. This course is not taken for credit and does not satisfy any degree requirements. Course expectations are the same for all participants, regardless of credit option. Approval by the music department chair is required.
