A Cappella Vocal Ensemble

This select, 5-10 member vocal group performs contemporary and jazz a cappella music requiring advanced musicianship and collaboration. Through rehearsals and frequent performances, students develop skills in close harmony, beatboxing, vocal percussion, improvisation, and other techniques. The ensemble participates in regional competitions, collaborates with other university groups, and performs locally. Members are expected to commit significant time to the music outside rehearsals. Performances are required and include events at churches, schools, retirement centers, and special university and community events. Students are required to register for both semesters each academic year. This course is not taken for credit and does not satisfy any degree requirements. Course expectations are the same for all participants, regardless of credit option.
