Lopez Scores Both Goals in 2-0 Shutout Win

GLENDALE, Ariz. – The Arizona Christian University men’s soccer program (4-3-0; 2-0-0 GSAC) picked up its first win over The Master’s University (1-3-1; 0-2-0 GSAC) since the 2018-19 season Wednesday afternoon with a 2-0 shutout on the ACU Football Field. 

 

Game Notes:

 

ACU moves to 5-10 all-time against The Master’s with the shutout victory and are 5-5 against the Mustangs in the two teams’ last ten matchups.

 

Goalkeeper Andres Arce was replaced by Josue Delgadillo 18:25 into the first half.

 

The Game: 

 

ACU’s German Lopez scored both goals for the Firestorm in the win, adding his first goal in the first half off of a beautiful pass from Ethan Molter.  His second goal was unassisted in the second half at 50:19.  The Firestorm held the Mustangs scoreless despite allowing 12 shots in the contest.
