Glendale, Ariz.- The first head coach of Arizona Christian Acrobatics & Tumbling Brandy Duren has decided to step away to pursue other opportunities.
Coach Duren was hired in March of 2017 to start the program. The Firestorm, who began competition in the spring of 2019, compiled a 5-11 record under Coach Duren while competing against NCAA Division I, II, and III schools. Four of their six meets in 2021 resulted in team high scores capped by a program best at Azusa Pacific in the season finale.
“Being the head coach of the Acrobatics & Tumbling team at ACU has been an absolutely incredible experience,” Coach Duren stated. “I am proud of the foundation that I was able to build and I am excited to watch it’s continued success!”
“We are grateful to Coach Duren for getting the Acrobatics & Tumbling program going at Arizona Christian,” Dr. Peter Dryer, Director of Athletics, commented. “It took a tremendous amount of work to get it started and competitive. She did a nice job setting the program up for success. We look forward to building on what she started and finding the next leader of the program.”
A national search will begin to find the new head coach of ACU Acrobatics & Tumbling. Interested candidates may apply at https://arizonachristian.isolvedhire.com/jobs/279848.html.
