Gallardo receives third GSAC DOTW nod of 2023

Glendale, Ariz.- For the third time this season, goalkeeper Carlos Gallardo collected GSAC Defender of the Week. The award was a byproduct of the Firestorm’s 2-1 win over OUAZ this past Thursday night, where Santiago Ballesteros headed in the go-ahead goal with under a minute left.

Gallardo claimed four saves in the game against the Spirit, conceding only one goal in the 82nd minute to Miguel Medina. He has started all 11 games for ACU and has the second-highest save percentage (78.8) in the GSAC only behind Vanguard’s Edwin Monterrosa.

Back in the win column following three consecutive losses, the Firestorm prepare for a home match against Hope International (9-2-1) this Thursday at 5:45 PM.
