Glendale, Ariz. – Arizona Christian battled through a competitive conference opener on Thursday evening, but Park-Gilbert secured a 3-1 victory at the ACU Soccer Field.

The Firestorm showed resilience throughout the match, creating opportunities and continuing to compete after falling behind early.
Park-Gilbert struck first just 3:03 into the match when their own Sarai Mizzell found the back of the net off an assist from Journey Morimoto.
The Bucs added another goal at 20:33, as their own Kalei Ganotisi converted a chance assisted by Darienne Thompson to give Park-Gilbert a 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.

The Firestorm continued to push in the second half, recording six shots after the break.
Park-Gilbert extended its lead at 73:11 when Mizzell scored her second goal of the evening, assisted by Thompson.
ACU responded just over three minutes later.
At 76:39, Rian Gaeta converted a penalty kick for her first goal of the season, putting the Firestorm on the scoreboard and giving the home side a late offensive spark.
ACU finished with 10 shots, including three on target, while matching Park-Gilbert with seven corner kicks.
ACU lost to Park Gilbert, 3-1.
