Faith, education, and service have guided Marc Pasteris for as long as he can remember — and this August, those convictions brought him to ACU as its new Chief Financial Officer.
“We were thrilled to be able to recruit Marc Pasteris to ACU,” said President Len Munsil. “He is the most experienced higher education CFO we’ve ever had here, but most significantly, he felt called to become part of what God is doing at ACU.”
In just a few months on campus, Marc has made a point of meeting people in every corner of the university. Everywhere he goes, he finds the same thing—a shared commitment to biblical education.
That commitment hits close to home. Marc and his wife, Carol, have been married 31 years. Carol, a retired high school chemistry teacher, is his best friend and strongest supporter, and both of their daughters are educators. With teaching and education woven so deeply into his family, ACU’s mission carries special meaning for him.
Marc doesn’t see his new role as CFO a career move. He sees it as a calling. ACU’s pursuit of academic excellence and its integration of faith and learning drew him here, and he arrives with deep experience in higher education, most recently as Vice President and CFO at Ashland University. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), he also serves as a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and has spoken at state and national conferences on higher education finance, technology, and leadership.
When God made a way for him to put those gifts to work at ACU, Marc said yes.
What strikes him most? At ACU, the mission isn’t just a slogan—people practice it every day. Marc watches students, faculty, and staff put their faith into action, and he sees colleagues pour genuine care and dedication into serving God while helping students grow academically, professionally, and spiritually.
Now he gets to help sustain that work from the finance office, and he counts it a privilege.
