Know the Industry
Introduction to the music industry
The modern musician is often a producer, engineer, and creator all at once. The Music Technology concentration builds on ACU’s music core to give you real, hands-on command of how recorded music gets made — from tracking and mixing to mastering and the business behind it.
On top of the music major, you’ll add twenty-three credits in music technology: production in Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and Pro Tools, plus mixing and mastering, music production, sound reinforcement systems, creative innovation, and an introduction to the music industry. You’ll choose technology electives that fit your goals — recording and streaming, songwriting and demo production — and round it out with ensemble work. You’ll graduate ready for the studio, the stage, or the industry, with a musician’s ear and a producer’s toolkit.
