Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
A Concentration In
Worship
An emphasis within the B.S. in Music — lead worship with musical excellence and a heart for the church.
Lead the Praise Band
Praise band, band leading, and worship leading
Ministry Internship
Real worship-ministry experience
Tech for Worship
Music technology and creative innovation
Leading worship well takes more than musical talent — it takes craft, leadership, and a theology that grounds it all. The Worship concentration builds on ACU’s strong music core to prepare you to lead worship in the local church with skill and conviction.
On top of the music major, you’ll add twenty-three credits focused on worship ministry: Praise Band, Band Leader, Worship Leader, Worship Desk, and an internship in worship ministry, plus music technology, conducting, and a junior recital. You’ll learn to lead a team, run a worship service end to end, and use the tools modern worship depends on. Combined with the Theology of Worship that grounds every ACU music major, you’ll graduate ready to lead a worship ministry — not just play in one.

Lead Worship

Worship leading is ministry as much as music — and a Biblical Worldview shapes how you understand the calling. Every ACU music major also studies a Theology of Worship.
Worship Is About God, Not Performance
A worship leader's job is to help a congregation encounter God, not to put on a show. That conviction reframes excellence as service — skill in the background, God in the foreground.
Forms a posture of leading worship that points past yourself.
Theology Shapes the Songs
What a congregation sings, they come to believe. Worship leading carries a teaching responsibility, which is why theological grounding matters as much as musical skill.
Equips you to choose and lead songs with theological care.
Leading a Team in Service
Worship ministry means leading musicians and volunteers, not just playing. Servant leadership shapes how you build and lead a healthy worship team.
