Riverside, CA- The cross country team travelled west to compete in the Highlander Invitational hosted by UC-Riverside. The race was the team’s final regular season race before setting their sites for the GSAC Championships on November 6.
The team was led by junior Braxton Pingleton who finished 20th overall with a time of 26:03.3. Not far behind was junior Nicholas Hiser in a lifetime best time of 26:45.4. Also running a lifetime best was sophomore John-Gabriel Lofredo who finished 69th in a time of 27:21. Rounding out the top five were sophomores Wayne Shuman (28:11) and Josue Gudina (29:09).
Thoughts from Coach Fahsholz
“Not our best team race, but we had some good individual performances. Nick and John have gotten better each race this season and today was no different. But as a whole, the team raced with tired legs, and that ultimately falls on me for not having them better prepared for our last regular season race of the season. We have an extra week to get our legs fresh again and be ready to have our best race of the season at GSAC’s on November 6th.”
