University Parking Procedures and Rules
All city and state motor vehicle laws and parking ordinances will be observed on campus. Obey all campus parking codes, posted signs, and other areas designated as no parking zones such as NO PARKING or RESERVED.
The purpose of our University's parking rules are to provide accurate parking information, maximize the use of available parking space, pedestrian mobility, and contribute to a safe campus environment for the University community and guests visiting our campus. A parking permit allows for the operator of the vehicle the privilege — not the right — to park on campus.
Parking permits are mandatory for all students and staff who park on University property or property managed by Arizona Christian University. The Department of Campus Safety issues all parking permits.
All students shall obtain a new parking permit before the start of the fall semester between August 1st and August 31st.
New and transfer students in January shall obtain a parking permit between January 2nd and January 15th.
Students, staff, faculty, adjuncts, and volunteers must pick up their Parking Permit in the office of Campus Safety Building 1100.
Students and staff shall replace parking permits within 24 hours when a windshield has been replaced, the driver obtains a new vehicle, or when permits are lost or stolen.
Students, staff, faculty, and adjuncts are subject to all ACU rules, city ordinances, and state laws related to operating and parking a motor vehicle while on university property. It is the responsibility of the operator of the motor vehicle to know the state laws, city ordinances, and university parking rules.
The use of emergency signals, personal placards, hand notes, etc. are not a valid excuse for violating any city ordinances, state laws, or university parking rules. It does not imply rules are no longer in effect when a violation notice is not issued.
Enforcement of campus parking rules are enforced year round, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. ACU reserves the right to terminate parking privileges at any time without cause, to tow abandoned vehicles, and to boot vehicles not registered with Campus Safety or in violation of a secondary parking violation.
Campus Speed Limit
The reasonable and prudent speed limit through all University parking lots
Students violating campus parking codes could result in administrative fines being applied to their student account. Staff, faculty, and adjuncts violating codes could result in disciplinary action through their department manager or Human Resources.
